I Have Moved To Google Plus, Have You? - The New Social Media Movement Is Spreading Like Wild Fire!

Chris Brogan has moved from his Facebook account, Kevin Rose has closed his blog and many others are considering to close their twitter accounts. All of them are so Google plus obsessed that they don't see the need of  other social networking entities. Chris says "I never liked Facebook. I never used it to stay in touch with friends. I never had a great experience with the platform. I never had it work well (if at all) for my business. So, I didn't bother. I used it grudgingly.I'm Banking on Google+"

Another blogger Christian Jay Marshall  has declared "My twitter account is no more......"  Kevin Rose (of Digg.com fame) closed his blog and redirected the url of his domain to Google Plus profile simply because the instant gratification he gets over there was unprecedented!
Masahable is conducting a poll asking if you have defected to Google plus from Facebook and the resposne has been overwhelming where in a majority of the respondents said they were are thinking about ditching either their twitter or FB account.for G+.

Believe it or not many of the social media pundits haven't witnessed  such extreme response and enthusiastic quick converts to a new product ever before. Could it because of Google's brand loyalty... Another factor which could be responsible for such a frenzied response could be  many of users were on Twitter or Facebook due to market compulsions irrespective of the fact if we understood the platform of not. They were there because every tom , dick and harry was, however, now they have been exposed to a system where in they don't just get to see the features but the benefits of using a social networking platform.

One of the biggest benefits is - it is helping them interact with social media biggies like never before and is also throwing up lots of relevant  traffic to their websites. The only question which remains is -  how long will this trend continue.. is this a fad or a big time game changer? What do you say guys?

  1. A lot of users have already jumped to the trend without even knowing its main use.

  2. I don't know the features of Google+ yet but considering the fact that the movement is spreading like wild fire, I should probably shift as well.

  5. It works if you want to be in contact with techy early adopters. As it happens that is exactly who the people you mention DO want to communicate with. But for a mass market, or a market with a different profile - no, they aren't on Google+

  6. Anonymous, you're wrong. It was like that in the early days, but my circles now consist of a lot of people who don't have a technical background.
